Urine stockage: in a water-proof tank buried to a capacity of 3000 litres, emptied once a year if used very frequently, otherwise emptied every 2 to 3 years.
Urine is naturally sterile and has natural auto- disinfectant properties.
It depends on how often it is used. It needs to be cleaned just like a classic toilet. If there is no water near the site, bring water in a jerrican, clean the toilet seat and the cabin floor. It is also possible to use wipes.
Usual toilet cleaning products may also be used. If the water falls into the toilets, it will be evacuated, in the same way as the urine.
For the Eathworm Composting Sanivertes, the compost needs to be emptied every 5 to 10 years depending on how often it is used.
- For the Automatic Bagging and drying system, the bags need to be changed once or twice a year depending on how often the toilets are used. New bag scan be bought from Ecospehere Technologies.
- Ventilation system needs to be changed every 5 to 8 years.
- Where there is a photovoltaic connection, the battery needs to be monitered once a year and changed every 3 to 5 years.
There is no odour in the cabin as:
The air is permanently being suctioned through the toilet.
The faecal matte ris not sprayed by the urine, thanks to the conveyor belt.
Earthworm composting Saniverte: natural ventilation; thermoconvective (transparent, polycarbonate roof, venturi effect – with a large chimney which opens out onto the roof).
Automatic Bagging and Drying Saniverte:
Connected to the mains: permanent consumption but less than 10 Watts.
Photovoltaic solar connection: 2 sensors (maximum 50 Watts)
There’s no need for electricity for the Earthworm composting Sanivertes.
For the Automatic bagging and drying Saniverte, the electricity is used to make the fans work (mechanical conveyor belt and stocking carousel are put into action with a pedal)
The earthworms eat the facal matter that is between 6 months and a year old so they don’t survive on the immediate provision of faecal matter.
The quantity of worms depends on the amount of matter that is transformed, the system balances itself out.
Earthworm composting Sanivertes can be implanted up to 2500 meters in the ground. Over several years we have verified the survival of worms in up to 2780 meters of altitude
